The vast majority of my earliest memories involve art, from painting by the river to scraping chalk all over the path in the garden. I’m not sure, specifically, my love for wildlife and patterns comes from. However, my mum enjoys telling the tale of me charging into the room shouting “look mum, I made a zebra” followed by the bumbling black family Labrador who had been covered in stripes of white emulsion. (He was a coconspirator I swear, besides, he later got his own back by eating all of my crayons and pooping rainbows for days.)

I spent a few years enduring a lack of inspiration, a complete creative block, but after leaving an abusive relationship I rediscovered my love of art, I wanted to fill my life with colour. That is when I started focusing on creating patterns inspired by the beauty found in the natural world; Mother Nature is the greatest artist there ever was. I love creating these patterns before incorporating them into my other pieces. I’m heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau movement, the textiles of William Morris and the elegance of the Art Deco Movement.
